Primary Trade Area
Creekside Village Serves a significant residential base south of Whistler Village including the growing residential areas of Kadenwood, Blueberry Hill, Bayshores, Spring Creek, Alta Vista, Cheakamus Crossing, Pinecrest and Black Tusk. Both Kadenwood and Blueberry Hill are high-end, affluent subdivisions located in the primary trade area of Creekside Village. In fact, Kadenwood is on the door step of Creekside Village with multi-million dollar house prices. It is one of the most affluent areas in the resort.
The primary trade area for Creekside Village are all areas, hotels, condos, lodges, townhomes and single family homes located south of Whistler Village. We estimate the market potential to be approximately 200,000 people annually. Said differently, if that were an equivalent sized city, the primary area around Whistler Creekside Village would be the 5th largest in BC according to Statistics Canada. That is an impressive number!
Creekside Village is the largest retail node serving the south end residents of the resort, as well as the millions of visitors. While there will be future residential growth in our primary trade area, the Official Community Plan for Whistler does not include additional commercial space in this area.
Secondary Trade Area
The secondary area includes all the Whistler Village Resort including all the residents and visitors to Whistler.
Overall, the Whistler resort community has approximately 10,500 residents, an estimated 2,700 annual transient workers/residents and an estimated 11,500 second home owners. This world class resort area attracts approximately 2.7 million annual tourist visits – both overnight guests and day trips – with approximately 40% arriving in Winter and 60% in Summer. This provides year round potential cash flow for your business.
